Yes, that is head voice and you make it more chesty with resonance.
secondly, what is wrong with sounding gay? Are you saying that Obama is wrong for freeing the gays from oppression? In reality, I have had several friends who were gay, and smart, and hard-working. so, what is the the problem with gay? What is the problem with sounding gay? Why do you care? Why do you friends care? My voice also sounds like a woman. When I was a teenager, people on the phone would address me as ma'am. Problem is, I am really tall and big and strong and fast, even as an old man. I am the ironic opposite of Bruce / Caitlyn Jenner. I look like a man and am glad to be a man and sound, at times, like a woman.
Where as she is considered a woman (pre-op) and still has that manly and low voice while speaking at the Espy awards.
So, if your friends still have a problem with it, send them my way. I will fix it to where they never have problems. Again.

This was great. You managed to keep your smooth crying timbre, without squishing it on the high notes, which I believe is good progress. I wouldn't be able to sing this song as smoothly, imo and would need more twang, brightness, and harshness in some of the upper regions. You've really expanded your core timbre since coming here.
Overall, it's just a great performance. I kind of like the occasionally odd vowel due to your native language. I'd personally get frustrated if everyone sounded the same on every vowel. I hope you keep a bit of it, for flavor as a singer. Maybe split the difference. It's part of what makes you refreshing to hear. You sound great, but not like a nameless, faceless American Idol contestant and little quirks are part of it.

Great, remember the crowd is by your side, its not there to judge you, they wanna have fun like you do. Even if you mess up nobody will remember the mistake, they will remember the general appearence, "The guy and the girl that sung really nice" they wont add "yes, and made a mistake in that song and one in the the other"... Remember that everybody messes up, even the greatest!
Also i thnik its better to mess up and be more expressive and active on stage than be like a  brick that sings spot on every note, i got a cd for that!

Hi Anthony, I am using twang on the chorus as well as thinning the sound a TON lol. It requires me to actually relax myself and not over project and blow a ton of air. I use twang and compression and focus on a bright tone and intensity not just looking for volume. I am going to be getting the 4 Pillars course. I was trained by a teacher who was also a student of Maestro David Kyle and I am probably using a fair amount of the same techniques for my basic voice production. But I feel that Robert should be able to push my voice a bit more and he seems to have so many modern tricks that I want to explore.

You don't need to do that. Just imitate your favourite singers

Your SLS teacher doesn't teach you that? I do it intuitively so I don't understand all the science behind it but basically the vowel is your resonance and you need to tune it to the pitch and the intensity you are singing. For instance a closed "oo" vowel and an "ee" vowel need to be opened a little for the mid/higher range unless you wanna sing softly. If you don't do that you will end up squeezing. "ah" needs to be closed down a little more like an "uh" if you want to stay in a "mix type sound" as opposed to a belt... Listen to your favorite singers you'll hear them doing it!

I never heard this version of this song before, it's a great arrangement. 3:14, "You taught me precious secrets" sounds so full of emotion and great on that phrase - and the G4 on "love" at 3:43 was also awesome. I like that you really took your time with this and made every line mean something as I was listening. You really communicated this song well! Great job.

I like your style. It is kinda fresh but influences from modern music are abvious. Therevare pitch issues but the overall tone is good.
Also dont cater your music to anyone. It should be the expression of yourself. Otherwise your just anothet wishy washy looking for money and fame. And you really cant cater music to everyone.

Just linking http://themodernvocalist.punbb-hosting.com/viewtopic.php?id=9260 as a reference.

I'm not saying anything new than what others like MDEW or singingnewbie have pointed out in your past recordings for review.

You yourself figured out eight months ago you were having issues.

    Again the same affirmation.

If there's one thing I give credit to people for when they do stuff like this, it's trying. At least putting in effort. If nothing has changed in eight months, then do you expect to hear something different? Cut the excuses. Yes, saying something has pitch errors, saying you didn't use music as if you didn't care, and then topping it off by saying you still felt like singing it, (or posting it, rather) are excuses. To reiterate: make the most of what you're doing. You can make a bazillion pitch errors during the recording process, and end up with a polished recording once you master the song. No one will have a clue of what you struggled with when they're listening to your work, unless you told them. It simply comes across as careless when people post stuff with justifications for why it isn't their 100% best effort. To be fair, I did point out the pitch issues. Even though something may sound right to you, it might not to someone else. If you don't agree, challenge it; don't call someone a jerk. There's a difference between changing the pitch of something for stylistic preferences, like using riffs or singing harmony lines, and being completely off-key or atonal.
