True to the original, not taking many liberties.  Double tracked vocals and distinct nasality.

Practice, practice, practice.  I've heard your voice in multiple covers, it's well within your grasp man.  Find a song you love that is double tracked (a LOT of Beatles songs are) and learn the hell out of it.  Get it down to the finest nuance and just keep replicating the take.

It sounds really good Jeremy, and so impressively similar to John's timbre. You did such a great job on the double tracking. I seriously doubt I could do something like that. I noticed the slightly off-pitch parts too, and volume drop outs in some high parts, when you probably go very soft. But other than that, it is really solid. Good job

Ecxellent job, Jeremy. You sound uncannily similar to John on this one. Including some of the same mixing values. John Lennon - "I don't care! Put some ketchup on it!"

    Jeremy,
    Cool choice for a cover.

    Your Review:
    - Its cool. I like it. You have a lot of personality and cheekiness to your singing, which is super cool. You seemed to wear this song well. Might be one of the best interpretations I've heard, I had a lot of fun listening to you sing this. Your a good singer.
    - Could use some refinement in the production; compression and perhaps a touch more ambiance or delay on the vocals.
    - 2:54 - 3:05 - (*auto edit*) COOL!
    - The back ups are a bit scattered, you could afford to tighten them up.

Overall, considering the playfulness of this song, I am hard pressed to find much wrong with it Jeremy. It is 85% super cool. Nice Job!

I've always worked hard on my voice but I've never had the guidance I needed.  Recently I have elected help from Jens and Daniel and they both played a substantial role in peeling away the first layers of bullshit to get me on the right path.
However I took lessons sparingly and unfortunately I realized I was so profoundly lost in assumptions, bad habits, bad muscle memory, etc etc that merely getting a few lessons was not going to be enough.  So that's why I recently decided to buckle down and get a genuine vocal program that I could adhere to and schedule to.. to optimize and streamline my training to it's fullest potential.  Of course, when it came time to make this decision there was no program that came more highly recommended than Four Pillars.
I haven't even been at this for two weeks and yet I already see great progress and more importantly, I have complete confidence in the information I am being given.  I have already had two lessons with Robert and each one has been a genuine pleasure and one step further in the right direction of achieving my dream of having a big and exciting voice.
Thank you Robert, for your help and for drafting what I truly believe to be the best program out there right now.

    Congratulations Shigeki Morimoto!
Our new member of the TVS Certified Instructor team from Tokyo, Japan! Shigeki trained for 40 hours in Seattle, WA at TVS studios and took a very difficult TVS test... and English is NOT easy for him! My personal regards, Maestro Morimoto is great for the TVS Instructor program and will represent TVS well in Japan. He knows how to make a full commitment, has a huge work ethic and cares about learning the TVS Method ideas. Maestro Morimoto is also one of the kindest and most pleasant people to be around I have ever met. He also can sing amazing... Welcome Maestro Shigeki Morimoto, our new TVS MCI responsible for Japanese singers, our colleague and friend.
Enjoy These Videos We Worked. Engineered, filmed and produced by me...

... precisely the point of having a vocal program and certainly what I have tried to create for singers.
You are welcome Jeremy. Thank you for sharing your experience with people here on the forum. 4Pillars really will work if you take the time to learn the method, in particular, the onsets and the acoustic modes and then get proficient in putting them together into smart, tactical and purposeful routines ( ITRs ), to tackle the issues your having. Just keep going, your on a real path that will lead to success now.

Yeah it was a bit whack, I was disappointed that they couldn't get the vocals right in the backing xD.  Next time I'm just going to play the music on the acoustic myself and have you record the backing vocals for me!

Ahh yeah Rons, more specifically I wanted to address your critique when you noticed this:
What happened was the karaoke track came with set backing vocal for those chorus harmonies and I went through first take and sang the right lyrics and the backing vocals sang the wrong ones.  I just said f@(% it and kept going because I was feeling good about that take haha.  The end result is a bit awkward and I was hoping some people would catch it for a laugh haha.

Haha, at the moment I sorta feel like the man behind the curtain at the end of Wizard of Oz because there is a lot of editing I did to make this sound somewhat decent.
It's not a true blue straight vocal because rather than just singing through the song one track as I usually do I spliced the track and overdubbed all of the harder sections such as "Oowee baby I sure show you good time", "SOME PEOPLE call me Maurice.", and "Well don't you worry baby don't worry" post production
Also the backing vocal for the chorus is not me, it came with the particular karaoke track I downloaded which I will link for you guys here so you can see what I was working with: http://picosong.com/tgJt/
So yeah, there was some trickery involved but at least I come clean with details.
    Thanks for listening guys.

A song that everyone knows.  It's a bit out of my range at parts but still fun and manageable enough considering the relative low passages throughout most of the song.  I suppose it's stuff like this I should be posting as it demonstrates my singing in a range where I'm learning to improve on.. any advice or criticisms are appreciated.

I really enjoyed it and it is the right song for your voice. What I noticed is that background vocals are off in the chorus on the phrase "don't want to hurt no one." The lead vocal is on the right path, the BV strays a smidge. I have a feeling that you actually tracked BV separately, rather than dupe and change mix. Thing I learned, make the consonants soft to non-existant on BV so they do not compete with the lead line.
Great mix and recording. Definitely keep this in your set list. If you ever show up at my house for brisket, you will have to sing this song. And I will sing the BV.
Awesome song that feels like I have lived it.
Now for useless trivia. Steve Miller is from the Dallas, Texas area. He is a stickler for sound quality and so he does not play live venues very much.
Nearly every interview, someone has asked him "what is 'the pompatus of live'?" His reply is, "I have no idea. It was a phrase that fit the beat for that part of the song and I could not think of a lyric that meant anything."

of course after reading this I had to go watch some interviews of de niro and walken to get their voices fresh in my mind.  Now I'm walking around saying 'You talking to me' to everybody lmao.  I'm okay with sounding like these guys even though I think my sound is closer to a fallout boy mixed with Eden project kind of deal.
I need to cover this song it gives me chills just singing it
