  1. Thanks man. I think that the vocals aren't loud enough myself.. What do you guys think?
  2. Got the first song back from the studio today. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12557329&q=hi&newref=1
  3. The good: You have the sharp bright voice type to sing Zepplin, good range., and pleasing tone . The not so good, but fixable: You have some major pitch issues throughout the song. Your vibrato is unstable, and your bridge needs work. Pretty much all normal stuff for someone who is very new to singing, or just started taking lessons. Get a few skype lessons with a good coach and that will get you in the right direction.
  4. The song is very hard. Just sing along with it like for a year like I did lol. You have a good start. You'll get all the nuances over time.
  5. Found it youtube - so I played it, ran the audio into an interface, back into my computer lol and sang the primary vocal track. Then added the background stuff. Here is the link to the real song.
  6. Holy Crap dude. This is amazing. I am in awe. I soo wish I could sing this song! You are soooooooo my idol.
  7. Maybe, felt like I was at my threshold though.
  8. Obviously you are a beginner. All beginners are timid at first. There are some basics you need to work on. My suggestion is to get a coach. I will write some things.to get you started when I have more time.
  9. And I got lazy and recorded the backing vocals on the same track lol. Lesson learned!
  10. Someday, I will have me another set of studio monitors.
  11. Love this song. This song pushes the limits of my chest voice (without mixing). Yes, I sang the womans part in the chorus - felt empty without it. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12506723&q=hi&newref=1
  12. Another great cover man. Some tiny pitchy spots. Great scream at the end of the choruses!
  13. Sounds like you are trying too hard, especially if you are going for a LaBrie type registration. I'd back off a little to start. There are some pitchy places, but overall, sounds very good for a beginner. You obviously have some work to do, just like the rest of us lol. PS I am having a hard time differentiating your voice from James lol - email me for a karaoke track for this song at keith_goehner@yahoo.com.
  14. Thanks man. Yeah, the song is a monster! I've just learned a few head voice configurations that aren't so tiring, so I'm gonna master them and try again in a few weeks. I also gained a few half steps in my range suddenly lol. Thanks for listening bro.
  15. It could be the mix . That video is 2 years old lol. The dream theater cover is a week old. I was going for a light registration cause that's what JL dies... especially now. Thanks for listening!
  16. Really cool voice man. Seems like you are straining a little for the falsetto notes, but have the higher head voice notes down. You sing emotion, which is awesome. Also, playing an instrument and singing is very very difficult. Good job.
  17. I think so. might not be the greatest backing track, But I have it lol.
  18. Hay, thanks for listening, and for the compliments! Positive reinforcement is always nice! I used a "tube downloader" to get it from Youtube. It may be too large to mail, but I can try. If you and Phil shoot me an email at keith_goehner@yahoo.com, I'll try and send it out to ya!
