  1. A group of crazy awesome people stuck it on youtube lol. It is sooo hard for me still to sing it. Thanks for listening man, and for the compliments!
  2. You aren't singing the song in the right key , of the correct octave. Other than that, your voice sounds pretty good, albeit a little airy. When you sing soft, try not to make it soft by adding extra air.
  3. Hey man. Been working on bridging early . I can't get into the right head voice set up bridging late. I know I sound a bit weak in the lower head tones still, but I'm working on it. Last night I discovered a way to get into a good head setup and may record this again soon. Thanks for listening!
  4. Wow. Dude, this is awesome! Very moving. Good job!
  5. LOL. well, it makes me vocally tired! Like real tired to belt passagio notes. So I am trying to throttle it back some :)
  6. I like it. Miles closes his vowels more on the high notes. (he sings whoooooo, not whaaaaa) for instance. Anyway, great tone and interpretation. I used to STRUGGLE with this song lol.
  7. I have been working on NOT belting everything I sing lol. So it sounds like I am holding back a little.
  8. Playing an instrument AND singing is a beeyotch lol. Pretty good job considering. You could try recording just the piano first, then singing over that track. If you do happen to record just the piano, please send me the backing track :)
  9. Thanks Ron You are awesome. Ya know, it sounded more "quacky" to my ears when I sang it than it does on playback. Interesting. Anyway, I am prolly the most proud of the "ringy-ness" of some of those higher notes. YAY Me! lol. Anyway, I'll do some more training and try it again in a few months.
  10. OK, so here it is,, In all it's glory. Still a bit quacky in spots, and I made some breathing mistakes that led me to inhale at the worst possible times (lol). It's a work in process. I think that it is much better than my first try. I cut out the middle as not to waste time. Also, the mix blows. It is the best I can do with what I have at home. Cheers! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12492646&q=hi
  11. I thought it was great man. You sang with heart, great pitch, and great control.
  12. Thanks guys. It means a lot to me that you enjoyed it!
  13. I did a kinda low scream towards the end of this video, does it sound connected with rasp, or disconnected?
  14. Kinda. It depends on the day . I try to do lots of head voice noises throughout the day, but this semester is very difficult for me so I'm slacking.
  15. Thanks guys. This is our worst show ever. But, the sound was great lol
  16. A few songs from a winter show. I had pneumonia, and the bass player was new. This was a very rough show, but it is our only video lol.
  17. Wow. Good job. Let me ask this though, did you find it difficult to sing the high stuff thin, since we have all kinds been drilling a thicker head voice with a boomer resonance ?
  18. Great job man. My only critique would be the distortion sounds a bit too gutteral in some places. But in others, it sounds great. Maybe you are trying to hard? Love your tone also. You are able to keep that "ping" throughout.
  19. I liked it. There are some cracks that should be smoothed out though. Also, some pitchy areas in the first "ahhhh ahh ahhh" section - usually on the second note of that part. It almost sounds like a switch between registers, even though I have not noticed you EVER having this issue before lol. I think, like Roberts, this is a very unique performance. Overall it's tremendous. Be proud. I wish I could sing this stuff, but I top out at F5 on a GOOD day.
  20. I like eggs. I eat the scrambled with a dash of Red Hot. (Franks Red Hot of course)
  21. This thread blows my mind. It has been taken to a whole new level of ridiculous. Please everyone, record your version so we can rip each others versions apart, instead of just supplying encouragement and praise. And no, I don't think that if you hear something negative you should keep it to yourself.. I mean If you are going to go through the time and trouble to listen to the whole song and make a small (in this case microscopic) list of what you dislike, supplement that list with stuff ya do like, and then move on with your lives! It is important for singers (and coaches) to hear about the stuff they did well. We all know this. Supplying only negative feedback really hinders progress.
