  1. Your low notes and very high notes sound good. The notes in between sound like you are having a hard time. Also, they are unstable (waive ring) your tone on the very high notes give me chills . Wish I had that range. Smooth out your bridges more and concentrate and singing each note in a note solid fashion. (If that makes sense) overall, enjoyed them all.
  2. I think the passion and emotion in your voice erased any tiny little flaws it may have. Nobody is Ian, but Ian lol. And the A5 isn't really necessary. I have heard Ian sing it both ways. And, its a ton better than I could do - which is why I haven't ever tried it yet.
  3. Chris, I can't think of one time you have written something positive, address a singers strengths along with their weakness. You simply either write that you don't like it, or nothing at all. You are not the be all/ end all of singers. Yes, you have exceptional ability, but dude, your're kinda a jerk a lot of the time. Its OK to not like something, but at least give a reason. You never backup you're critique with any reason. Get off the cross man. I think you could be a big asset to this forum if you'd just get over yourself.
  4. I'd say your first issue is the Sure 58. It isn't meant for studio recording. I have several mics, and the worst one for recording is a 58. I suggest getting an inexpensive studio mic. I have an audio-technica at2020 (i think thats right lol) and it works great. AND it was free. To get it, all I had to do was buy 2 AT live mics , and they were $99.00 for both. Almost any studio condenser mic will be a monster compared to a 58 in a studio setting . Do you have the Preaonus interface? I have one, but didn't like studio one, so I use it with Cakewalk Producer edition 8.
  5. This song requires tremendous support and control, and you have them both. I think some of your voice may have been lost in the mix. I think you did a great job with this song. What equipment did you use to records with?
  6. thanks for listening bro! I tried to do a mix of the original and the White Lion version lol.
  7. This song is harder than it sounds! This is one take with some harmonies snapped into it. I think that, even though the mix is horrible, I sang it ok. Very tireing song. So, I hope ya like tons of verb! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12404674&q=hi&newref=1
  8. You have a suite sister mary karaoke file????????????
  9. Any age is a great age to start. I started at 38.. I'm 40 now lol
  10. Its hard to say anything from this example. It doesn't use much of your range, and its almost a whisper. I'd say record something that has more range use and more powerful vocals. It sounds OK for what it is.
  11. I think the vowel could be modded on the word eyes to open it up a little. Try pronouncing it "uhys" as in "guys" . I think it sounds great just the way it is. It has bite to it. You will lose some if that bite if you modify the vowel.
  12. Dude. You sound great! Keep doing what you are doing!
  13. Easy song my A*s! Awesome man. If I was a dog, I'd hump your leg.
  14. Thanks brp - The version I sang was in correct tuning, the live version from the original band is a half step down (in case you didn't realize it). Though, tuning it up would have it's benefits :)
  15. Sounds pretty good. Some pitchy spots here and there. The overall feeling is there, but the phrasing needs some work.
  16. Good stuff. Would be a great song to nail at a karaoke club. Are you sure you are not a fellow bari? The only critique I have is to try to swell the slide i the chorus at the end of the slide. Love the song bro.
  17. You need to learn the basics. Breathing & support.. Also, practice singing songs that are within your range - it is a good way to use what you have learned in a practical application. I will ling some videos. Master them. Try to find $ for at least a couple skype lessons with a good coach. You will get more out of a one on one lesson than you will out of buying a program. Check out Robert Lunte and Dan Formica. Both are amazing.
  18. Fantastic! You really sound great! Lots of emotion. No negative comments from me.
  19. I think the high notes sound better than the low notes... Overall, you did a great job though. Much better than I could do. Just remember, the low notes are just as important as the high notes. I wish I could sing that high! lol
  20. Yeah, they tune down a half step. I sang along with the tuned down version (before I knew it was tuned down) then recorded what I posted. It was much harder lol. A half step can make so much difference! Thanks for listening and for the advise !
