  1. I love this song although I like Eric Clapton's cover better. But I can't find a backing track for that. Here's my version. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11725587&q=hi&newref=1
  2. I just got a chance to listen to this. Very good, and especially at the end. Nice job.
  3. Thanks Adolph. I've been into a lot of music over the years. Still am. But the Blues? That's the one that gives me chills up my spine and at times a tear. You know what I mean when I say you can feel a song deep inside you? Yea man Thanks for listening.
  4. Well you've got a guitar and I would imagine you play scales. And you probably have an electronic tuner? Plunk a note and match it with your voice against the tuner (hook a mic the tuner), with an ah sound or an ee sound or an oh or whatever. Go through notes A through G. Practice practice practice.
  5. Good Job on the guitar and not bad on the singing...I think ...I can't be sure It sounded like your singing was ok and not a bad tone except you were singing in a different key than the guitar which made it sound off pitch...well..out of key :)
  6. ha ha me and Elrathion must have posted at the same time and both said it was "fun." I swear I'm not copying your post!!!:D
  7. Hi Melie, I gave a listen and I thought it was a fun song. Good job singing it. I don't know the song so have nothing to compare your scream to I can't say if it was good or bad...but the rest of the song sounded good.
  8. Thank you Notsosuperhero Interesting song for me as far as my history with it. This song, for me, was born out of trying to play it on guitar in an attempt to learn the instrument about 12 years ago. The guitar never worked out but as I was playing I would end up singing it. I couldn't play it but got compliments on the vocals. Then, I used to play harmonica back around 1989 or 90 (Blues). I put it down for 20 years and when I started again one of the first songs I did was Redhouse. I posted a version of it on a harp forum as well as youtube channel and again most people liked the vocals. Actually every time I posed a video of me playing harp (trying to get compliments on my harp playing) I got compliments on my vocals instead. So last year I moved completely away from the instruments and went full vocal. And here is Redhouse....no instruments!!! :D
  9. I recorded 5 songs today. The one I sent you which I won't be posting for awhile till I get it right; which is a blues as you know. And of the four others only one is really blues besides Redhouse. That being a second version (better backing track ) of "Stormy Monday." I also did "Simple Man," and "Little Wing" (Hendrix).
  10. Thanks guys. Tommy Blue? That was my name on another forum and the original name on my soundclick page. As was "Tee Blue" "Sugar Tee" "Tee Money" "Tee Money Mojo" "Tommy Mojo" and a couple more... Thanks for the listen.
  11. Is that you in the harmonies too? Those higher parts sounded comfortable and full. Nice job.
  12. First song of the day. Got a small list to get through (concert day) A cover of Redhouse by Jimi Hendrix http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11725593&q=hi
  13. I've never heard that song. Good job Ron. I agree with Keith and I think it has something to do with the fact that there seemed to be a bit more emotion in the vocals this time around.
  14. Yea, you know me. I'm just trying to do my own thing. Unfortunately that entails a lot of failures along the way. But ya gotta have balls if you wanna make it right :D
  15. The song is in it's correct key. I just lowered my vocals. I like to surprise people! Hey, this is my forum for training and experimentation. I don't just want to "sing songs" like a karaoke singer. I want to perform or be somewhat of an artist. So I need to play around with the songs and try to make them my own. The only problem is that it would work better with a band. I am limited by the backing tracks because I am locked into their rhythm, timing etc. Thanks for the listen and comment Ron. :)
  16. Thanks for the tips, I'll look into that I'm not too concerned over this song and how I sang it as much as creating a different version of it from the original. I know there were a few spots in the song that were a bit off but I whipped it together to see if I could come up with anything interesting as far as changing the phrasing of the original. But those tips are good ones none the less and I'll be working on it as I go . Thanks izzle :)
  17. We've been through this before, haven't we Dave? The car thing is a little distracting, couldn't you at least park somewhere quiet?
  18. Yea, that is more my style at the end. But I wanted to try something different. It started with me wanting to blues it up more but I couldn't find the phrasing with that particular backing track. I slowed it down but that didn't suit me. When I tried to sing it all like I did at the end, it made the beginning of the song too loud since the key was high for me. That's what started the whole thing....I wanted to sing it but the key was too high on the backing track so I played around with the vocal and just lowered my pitch. Which then led to changing the melody and phrasing. At first I really liked it. I posted it. Then I went out. The more the day wore on the less I liked it I'd prefer to sing it like the end. (I threw the ending in to add my signature...) Thanks for the listen EDIT: P.S. After that I was working on another song, one I wanted to do for awhile but never like how I sing it. I almost had it but I made a mistake in the lyrics. When I started over to re-record, my computer froze and my time ran out, I had to wrap up and get on with my day. Close, but no cigar. Hopefully I can get it the song right on the weekend.
  19. This is my version of "Proud Mary" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. I've never sung this song before and had an idea on where I wanted to go with it. What do you think? I haven't really worked on this version, I just set up and sang it a few times to see how I could change the original a bit. maybe I can work out a good different than the original version. It isn't a song I would normally sing. I've only ever liked the Tina Turner version and even that...not quite my genre. Opinions? http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11718401&q=hi
  20. Ahh yes, Georgia. That one is buried here somewhere after many attempts at getting it right. Thanks for the listen. Looking forward to more stuff from you.
  21. Yea...that was cool. I went back and listened some more. I really love your voice. I'm actually a little jealous :D
  22. I gave a listen. I started out with the last song, Tom Jones' It's Not Unusual. My first impression was "Wow!" I thought that was fantastic. Then I moved up the list to another song. Again, I thought the vocals were great. However I was a bit confused now. The Tom Jones (karaoke) song isn't you is it. Or is it? Who ever Tom Jones is is very enjoyable, good showman too. That's not to take away from the other songs at all. They were all very good. Really, really nice voice. I am now looking forward to more. I liked them all a lot :)
  23. Tell me about it. Murphy's law kicks in as soon as you hit record. I've already forgotten the first line of a song that I have been singing for years....more than once. That's another reason I hang a lyrics sheet now. I just try not to read it too much while singing. Just a cheat sheet. Thanks again P.S. The song posted below this (Come To Papa). That song I had to read all the words. I didn't know them. First time singing that one and I made a few mistakes that day before finally getting it right (even though I was reading the words. Including getting tongue tied and saying words that don't exist in the English language. I said one line backwards :D
