  1. Hey guys, I've been practicing as hard and often as I can on my vocals, trying to make it one voice from top to bottom, trying to avoid straining and "chest pulling" as well. This is my second post on this section, and it is one-take recording on my cellphone at the kitchen with me strumming the acoustic guitar. I would really like all the criticism, tips and advices, and your impressions on the voice quality as well. I am a little confused if I'm using too much cry or twang. Many thanks in advance guys! Cheers!
  2. Beautiful crystal voice! Great performance, but for my taste, I would like to see a bit more edge when the song gets louder/bigger. I also wish you the best of luck on the movie!
  3. Hi Vyper, I liked how the folk/country vibe turned into rock at the end. Good job man!
  4. Hi Olem, good job! But I'm with Ronws in this one: I think you need to approach it in a lighter way, instead of coming too hot and heavy. As soon as you get your support down, you fix the pitch issue. Still, it will sound like as if Bruce Dickinson was singing it. Cheers!
  5. Great job Felipe! And I have to agree with Jugulator about your voice sounding like Paul Stanley in this song. It sounds like a grown man singing a teenager's song. If you know what I mean. Very nice.
  6. Hi Felipe, I heard it on average Koss headphones, hooked-up on my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2. Anyways, it sounds awesome already, but it could get even better. Cheers
  7. Awesome Felipe! Nice timber! But I think your voice could be a little more up front in the mix. Rock on!
  8. I really enjoyed it Bernie. I liked your phrasing and the contrast between the light and the strong parts. I felt the emotion of the song. I think the person who said it lacked emotion was influenced by the mix that was burying your voice. Very good job.
  9. Really nice!! I liked your tone very much bro. Very good job!
  10. Coming from a Beatles fan, Well done Chavie! It is hard to believe that it is the same guy who sings metal songs! Very nice indeed!
  11. Hi Keith, first of all, really good job man! The mix was very good for a live gig, although I think your vocals could be a little louder, but very good still. Second of all, the musicians are very good, and I agree with rowns that time will make them tighter. And third of all, I wish "the worst" of my band sounded half good as this! You have inspired me to keep working hard on my vocals and now, my new acquired bass playing skills, since I have started covering the bass position until we find another bass player. Congrats!
  12. Nice job Jonathan! I liked the tone, although I think you may be able to beef it up a little bit more (if you want it to), maybe lowering the larynx or adding some grit. Congrats!
  13. I like the way you sound on both, although the second one was better because of the chorus. I think that with time and training you could make the chorus sound even fuller, if you want it to. Congratulations on the great job Chavie. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to show improvement on my passagio too.
  14. I believe you man! You made it sound almost like a Metal song. But it is a stylistic choice. However, you need more work on pitch control. Maybe you lack pitch control because of the way you were screaming/adding distortion wouldn't allow it. As I am no vocal teacher, I'm probably wrong in my assumptions. Keep working on it paying more attention to pitch. Cheers.
  15. Nice voice! Sweet but not bubblegum, and still powerful. Congrats!
  16. Wow! Really cool interpretation! I think the only acoustic version of Iron Maiden I've ever heard was Wasting Love, but it still reminded me of the original. Your version, however, doesn't make me think of Iron Maiden at all. It could well be your own song. I also liked the tone you kept during the song. Very good job man!
  17. Nice job! I agree about the "to much echo" going on, but I liked it overall. So, this was the start of the Bon Jovi challenge?! :D
  18. Well done! Is sounds so thick that it fools my ears into believing that you are blasting out your lungs. Good job man!
