  1. You most likely will not notice an increase in range (as such) . What happened with me is I was singing a song that I normally could not sing because there was a note or two that were too high.. And suddenly, I could sing those notes. Also, my vocal break moved.. It used to be around E4, now it's around A4. While doing a siren , I don't hear a break, but I feel one lol.
  2. I love cakewalk. I can't speak for Garage band. I have ProTools, Cakewalk Sonar Pro 8, and Magix - I like Cakewalk the best of those 3.
  3. My take - Pretty much same as Rons. Though, I hear moments where notes are not supported, then I hear other notes that are.l think what is happening is that when you try to sing quietly, you are letting a ton more air through and, thus, making the note unsupported and airy. Try to , instead of allowing yourself to blow air to make quiet notes, use a well supported clean but quiet tone instead. Other things I hear was little things like removing support from a note that you are holding right before you end the note, instead of ending the note first. Download a shareware version of cakewalk. You can use your built in mic. Then, add a compressor to the vocal channel. Make it "pre" by clocking the green lit "post" button twice . That button is on the far left of the track. It will help you high loud notes from clipping. Over all, your voice tone is nice, timing is good, just need some technique work.
  4. Just watched that. Gabriele is friggin amazing. I was in a band that played that song years ago, and the singer couldn't make it even half way through. Brings back some memories! Gillen would even bow to that performance!
  5. Sounds pretty good man. I'd kill some of the vocal doubling, just because you can almost hear the double louder than you lol. There is so much vocal doubling that it almost sounds like auto tune. I know that in the 70's, it was the bomb (just listen to old Kiss). Anyway, good job! ~Keith
  6. You have potential, you have some soul. Sounds like your placement is too forward, and the sound is resonating in your nasal cavity. Try taking 1 skype lesson with someone. I suggest Robert Lunte or Dan Formica. I bet you will hear immediate results.
  7. Roberts Pillars program has an entire chapter on distortion.
  8. Email me at keith_goehner@yahoo.com for a couple lower DT songs . And I meant after "heaven must be more than this" . Get a coach or a singing program.
  9. I only listened to Surrounded. On the higher notes, you are pushing too much air and breaking into falsetto. The lower notes need support and they will be fine. Just so you don't feel too bad, here is my cover of it lol. It is a very difficult song. I had a cold when I did it - you can hear me caughing. This is one take also. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11686513&q=hi&newref=1
  10. Gonna need a new clip, can't hear you in that one. Maybe just sing it acapella . If you have a mic and a USB interface, you can get shareware mixing programs for free that you can use to record your voice on a separate track. Garage band, cakewalk, pro tools- all have little free versions .
  11. On a side note, it's damn awesome you can sing that high ! I am jealous. And this is a pretty balsey song to post lol.
  12. Time for a new program... 2 years is a long time to not see an improvement.. I hear the complete lack of support on the lower notes congruent with SLS methods. You have the range to do this, so it should not tire you out if you are singing correctly... Only other thing is be careful when you are stopping a note not to let the tone dive.
  13. Not a fan of the original artist. Listening to your version, I note that you are singing it an octave lower. You were as on pitch as the original singer, the octave difference notwithstanding. What exercises do you do? How do you warm up? A pseudo no-no while first learning an instrument, is not to mess with other things at the same time - like learning to sing AND at the same time, playing guitar. I would like to hear a clip of your vocal workout & warm up at this point, instead of songs you are trying to sing. And yes, B7 is difficult to fret (lol)
  14. Max, you are the epitome of a metal vocalist . All metal vocalists should aspire to sing like you. Please excuse me now, while I go outside and bury my mic. :)
  15. Very kewl. Though, I can tell your voice is giving you a hard time. The higher notes sound strained. But, your voice fits these songs perfect !
  16. It seems to me the verses were off- pitchy.. And the enunciation was not terrific. Good news is though, you have the range to easily perform this song. Just work on the little things, and maybe invest in a small USB interface and mic - makes your recordings better. All the the issues I heard are easily fixable. The hard part is getting up that high - which you can do already.
  17. Very enjoyable. I would have likes to hear some vibrato, but even without it I liked it. Great job!
