  1. This is recorded at our last rehearsal. I sing and play bass on this. Still looking for a bass player. (lol) Anyway, hope ya like it. This is one of our lower songs (vocally) It is kinda like taking a break when we play it lol. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12238904&q=hi&newref=1
  2. There is nothing wrong with the aspirated approach - It helps get you in the correct placement when singing a difficult note. That is why you hear a lot of pros doing it. As far as critique, I got nothin' lol. Your singing is beautiful. A coachcould help you figure out your straining concern.

  4. I saw priest last year. I have seen them 5 times before. But, last year, Rob's voice was the best i have ever heard it. It sounded almost like he had taken opera lessons. A lot of his singing was clean and operetic, yet powerful. I am not sure he lost anything. He may just be getting better lol. The scream in the chorus of Blood Red Skies pierced the stratosphere. I was in awe the whole time. Not sure what Rob Halford you guys are taking about lol. I guess we all have bad days / bad shows. I sang a show last year with the flu. I could barely stand up there under those lights for the 45 minutes that were required. And my voice sounded like crap lol. But, to me, it was better to just do it, than to cancel.
  5. Throats still a little raspy, but felt good to sing. Forgot to activate compressor, as you will notice in the end. I used My AT2020 mic into my mixing board, then into my interface. No EQ used either. Added reverb though, cause I like it. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12133206&q=hi&newref=1
  6. Love your voice man, No vocal critique at all. Keep singing like that lol.
  7. Any tips on singing this song that reduce fatigue?
  8. Well, was a number of things is suppose. Singing full deck for 4 hours , trying to sing a sing out of my useable range while playing bass, not drinking enough warm stuff, not knowing when to say when.
  9. Here is the first cover song I have tried since my little injury. My studio monitors are dead, so I hope is sounds ok. I tried the first and second verse differently (as far as technique). One of them pulled chest, and the other did not. I am really not very familiar with this song, so I hope that also I sang it right lol. http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12124890&q=hi&newref=1
  10. First, you have unnecessarily low self esteem - you sing just fine for what you are singing . No reason to sing with the light off. You have an affinity for singing country, and obviously you like it also. What are your aspirations?
  11. Well, first off, the original mix is better than yours lol. On top of that, he is singing with good resonance, and you are singing in falsetto on the higher notes . That's the difference between an airy tone and a connected tone. It will take some work to get his power and ease in this section of your voice.
  12. Sounds great! One thing I will point out though / in a studio setting , using a "live" use mic- you shoul be almost kissing it. Back off only if you belt a note. You lose a lot of your voices characteristics being so far away from it.
  13. Roberts pillars program will get you there, as will Dan Formica and Ken Tamplin.
  14. Maybe. It's best to pick a coach / teacher that can do what you want to do.
  15. Dude, you have a lot of good stuff going on here. Obviously, you sing into your "mask"- which is awesome. You have a good buzz goin on. Your tone sounds great. I think you should work in your vowels a bit - might help you get what you're looking for . But, I'm not really sure what you're looking for lol.
  16. Email me the piano track and the lyrics and I will sing it for you if you like .
