  1. We all expected really bad comments when posting here for the first time. We do not hear our own voices like other people do, and, at one point, we were ALL beginners. Heck, I am still a beginner!
  2. Sounds great for a beginner. As Owen stated, pitch and tone are good; plus, you have good phrasing and rhythm. Keep practicing!
  3. I think the only thing that I would work on if I could sing like that is to make sure that I can sing those vocals clean AND dirty. Can you sing clean that high?
  4. Ok man.... Thats insane, Stop knitpicking ! Thats just amazing.
  5. I think the point is that he sang the whole song in EC... It becomes more evident in the higher notes though. To my ear, though, his higher notes sound more head dominant, which to me means that he is using full voice with varying degrees of head voice musculature. Hibria's singer has a similar tone (and epic "snottyness"). Check out Iuri Sanson here :
  6. How did you figure this out for yourself? Was there like one exercise you did that made it all come together (mentally, or sensationally) for you?
  7. When you warm up, start out by doing them softly and with no strain at all. Warm ups are not designed to be workouts.. When you go jogging, you stretch first. Like any physical activity, warming up just makes things go easier. Working out, on the other hand, can be strenuous. Try doing some easy warm ups just loud enough to not be airy. My $.02 Also, awesome cover dude! Where did you learn orrendo canto? as far as I can tell, there are no orrendo canto teachers in the states where I live.
  8. Sounds good to me, even with the poor quality recording Try covering Royals by Lorde. I think you would kick its' a$$!
  9. I like it. Cool stuff. Careful about adding too much effects to your voice - it gets a little washed out in places.
  10. I liked it! Got a Michael Bolton-ish sound. (which is no small feat) . The vocal mix sounds simply like an EQ issue. Add some highs, make sure lows are shelved.
  11. I liked it. You sound like you, and James, all mixed together. You are doing good with getting grit in the mid range of your voice, also.
  12. You don't know the basics. Not at all. You can laugh if you like, but you really don't. You sing with 0 support. None, whatsoever. Support is part of "the basics". This may help.
  13. Before he works in resonance, he needs to work on support exercises. I bet the pitchi-ness will self correct once he learns the absolute basics. Always start with the basics when starting something new. What does your workout routine look like?
  14. Overall pretty awesome cover! There are just a couple off notes in the chorus. The last chorus was dead on, the first one has a flat note in it. I don't recall the word though. If you listen close, I am confident you'll hear it. I think the word is "with ".. other than that, sounded pretty brilliant!
  15. Awesome. You sang it with more balls than your others. I was however waiting for the high note at him the end... and it wasn't there!!! I know you can sing that note.... email me that backing track if ya can at keith_goehner@yahoo.com :)
  16. A vocal coach. In this case, you will prolly get what you need to learn in just a few lessons.
  17. Most of what are you are singing is out of tune with the song you are playing. I think you need to put the guitar down so you can fully concentrate on your singing. Best advice I can give you is to get some lessons. Even just one or two skype lessons with one of the many vocal coaches that frequent or own this site would be extremely helpful. Here are a few names that you could contact about a lesson or two: Robert Lunte, Dan Formica, Kevin Richards. All three will be able to listen to you and point you in the right direction. Good luck!
  18. Slight pitchyness in places, but overall it's pretty good man. Your voice keeps getting better and better. You should be happy with the progress you have made so far. I wish i progressed as fast as you.
  19. Can't listen to the track - it does not exist. Fix it so we can listen :)
