Bono

Hi everybody! Here I am again with another song of my project The Crystal Bricks. It's actually a song that I wrote long time ago, but I recorded it last year. It tells about how sometimes we have to leave our fears behind in order to get forward. Hum, maybe not a very original topic  However, here it is. Hope you like it! Love!
 

"I only have eyes for you"  is a love song composed in 1934 by Harry Warren and Al Dubin (Lyrics).
My version is inspired by the Sinatra's one, with Count Basie Orchestra.

Wow!! I loved t!! You have a killer voice with lot of nuances, sometimes is soft and notice the influences of Bono´s voice (the real one..lol) in a good way since it doesn´t sound like a copy; sometimes it is raspy, when you turn it off at the end of some phrases it reminds to bon jovi; and powerful and bright on the high notes which are very impressive (also listened to your covers of queen and scorpion). Regarding this song, I think it´s great, I specially like the guitar solos, deep and slashy. Good work, man!! keep it coming

Hey Aranvind, you are improving a lot... both, singing and recording. It sounds very natural to me, also like your interpretation. However I think you can even achieve more depth in your voice... for example, in the first verse watch out the word trouble, you are putting it too much in your nose. Same thing with words that finish with ee: Be, me, agree... try to give them more space.

This is sounding quite nice. Sounding more natural than other recordings Ive heard from you in the past, this path you took is really great, the lower spots in particular improved, a lot. Nothing that takes away from the result comes to my mind, the tonal quality is good.
 
 
About recording on a studio, it can improve things because you will have just one job (singing).

I prefer this over Sam Smith from what I've heard. Your accent adds something very unique and interesting to the track and your timbre expresses something unique outside of any genre I'm familiar with. 
 
I don't have any useful critique aside from making the accent more typically western might make things more commercial in USA markets. For now, I'd prefer you sing how you sing as I find it more valuable artistically and as a listener I feel it more, but depending on your aspirations you should decide how to forge your own path in vocal development.

I think if you compare this song with others of pekka , my friend or Chicago for example ; here his voice is heard much freer . Continue on this road

Hello! As proposed by Elvis_Osmanovic we are organizing a friendly competition, to stimulate everyone on their studies and just have some fun. Due to the friendly nature, there are no prizes and no strict rules about it. The song of the Challenge is : "All of Me" by John Legend I´ve linked here a backing track that I found and that seems acceptable (although it has backing vocals, and they are auto-tuned   ). But, feel free to record the song in any manner you want, accapella, guitar+vocals, a different version, other backing tracks, etc. I know that not everyone has the condition to do an overdub recording, so my suggestion for those that may like the idea but don't have the means (or the time) to do so is: - place a cellphone on the room 2 or 3 meters away from you;- set it to record;- play the backingtrack on a good stereo (set the EQ to flat);- sing on top of it. This way you can balance the sound on the room and you will record what you are hearing. The result will not be hi-fi but at least will not get in the way. Auto-tune won´t be allowed, for obvious reasons. And I also kindly ask the participants to go easy on the editing. To participate, all you need to do is send your version on the review section, on a new thread, and send the link to your thread here. I will keep this thread clean so we can organize it better, to talk about the Challenge, please use the >ORIGINAL THREAD. I liked it. You sound really good on this and you are certainly cleaner and smoother than Bono. (I am cursed by trivia, I keep thinking of him by his given name, Paul Hewson.)
 
Believe it or not, I was planning on covering this song and even started a project file on it about a month or so ago but I have not moved forward with it. I was trying to create my own music track for it but have not really worked out the arrangement.
 
Well done on the falsetto-ish ending, even if it was not falsetto for you. If I were to advise on recording editing, I would drop the track volume on that part and put a little more reverb on it to give the echo quality of the original recording. Which has no bearing on anything just a "what if" thing about editing. Show off that fine singing you were doing.

So I started this cover awhile back. Got the guitar track laid down, started singing and was taking it into a kind of wistful direction.
 
I had kind of an idea of where I wanted it to go but it felt like something was missing. Maybe my voice just doesn't sound as rad on D5s as Robert Plant, but I knew I wanted something different.
 
So I hit up Ronws and asked if he wanted to sing some lead on this thing. From that point I really started liking this track and ultimately we ended up trading off leads. I added backing vocals, bass, drums, dual harmonizing guitar solos, and a new bridge. Went to town on this one.
 
What do you guys think?
 

It rocks. I'll give a more in depth listen when I get a bit more time, but was this the plan all along? To be our very own Bono, build up to your U2 cover and change it?

I do not want to contradict you buddy, but you do sound like a singer, a good one actually...   Would like to hear your voice with no effect because it sounds a little robotic at the end of the phrases   finally, I hear a lot of Axel in your voice, that could be good or not... I think to copy is great at the beginning or as an excercise. I suggest you to keep this influence and go further, find out what makes you unique
