  5. Yea, its the whole song. Im not much of a lyric guy, i am more about the feeling behind the words. I'll post the lyrics later when i have access to a better keyb2
  6. This is the full song. I am currently putting this song out on iTunes, Spotify, google play, and every place you can think of. Expect a forum post within the next week or so saying "check me out on the tonight show" ha ha. http://vocaroo.com/i/s1ObRDbNrJpo
  7. Here's a song I've been working on in the studio. I really liking the way it"s turning out. I have to go back for an hour or two and fix a few things and make a few tweaks but its sounding pretty cool I think. The song took me about 15 minutes to write and it's turning out to be one of my favorites. I love how all the instruments are coming together. http://vocaroo.com/i/s0uKdHc6dVQQ
  8. I accept your challenge!!!!! What are the rules? Is it backing track only, or acoustic, or maybe acapella?
  9. Yep, ive been working on that to. Ive been doing things like tapping my foot to the rhythem, counting the time as i play, and playing to a metronome.
  10. I know exactly what you mean. In fact, the majority of my training the past couple of weeks has been dynamics. I get after singers all the time for not having enough dynamics but, I have the same problem. I, however feel I have gotten a lot better with dynamics throughout the past week. I'll probably post some songs later on. I Have sonar and a bunch of recording equipment but I have no idea how to use it. I often end up spending hours getting frustrated at stupid simple things. One time I spent 3 days just trying to get the metronome to make a sound of any kind. I don't really like using it and it feels like a chore instead of a pass time. My dad is also a song writer and he has the same problem. We are thinking strongly about hiring someone who knows sonar to teach us the ways of the mystical program. I get compared to the cure a lot, they are by far the band that I get compared to the most. I guess I can see it, but I find it odd because while I like their music, I never listen to them. I am probably most influenced by Jeff buckley, Keane, Rufus Wainwright, and most recently Julien Baker.
  11. Yea there is actually. If I have it close up it distorts and is actually even harder to hear. So, yea that's the reason. I'm going into the studio to get some high quality recordings in April. These were just quick recordings on a broken phone while I was playing around with some ideas.
  12. Messing around with a few song ideas. These are not polished at all yet and are in the early stages of song writing. http://vocaroo.com/i/s0jF0P95iUbn http://vocaroo.com/i/s0aDuD6nAyuB
  13. I want to record a high-quality song in the studio. I don't want it to sound pretty good or just nice. I want a professional radio-ready, tv ready sound. What do I need to do and how do I do it? Do I just buy recording time and they will do the rest or do I have to buy mixers and masters and all of the fancy people I don't know the names for? What are the steps and how do I start to make a pro recording of a song? I am not worried about how much the recording costs. I am only worried about the quality and the quality alone. Important information I have never done any work in a professional studio as far as I know, I do not know anyone personaly who has made a radio ready recording in a studio I do not have a drum set nor do I know how to play one if I did. Although I have had some experience with drum samples and thought they sounded pretty good at times Bass, Guitar, Vocals, and piano are all instruments That can be played professionally either by my self or others I know.
  14. Yea, it was getting kind of awkward ..... Jeremy saved the day. Let us all pray to the dear King Jeremy. BTW. Kevin Richards is a good coach and a good singer, and yea he has many embarrassing moments online, but so does Robert, Ken, Brett, and everyone else.
  15. I have sonarx2 studio. I still have no idea how to use it.... but one day....one day may I unlock the knowledge
  16. build it up slowly but surely. Keep your throat relaxed and try to add power by using resonance instead of shouting. Doing the boring annoying vocal work outs and warm ups are what will do you the best good. All the nay nay nays mum mum-mums, and sirens you get so sick of doing are what grows the voice. In your clip, you are way breathy and don't have any compression. This is one of the reasons it sounds so weak. Try a quack and release onset or crying like a baby but keep the heady placement you have if that makes sense..
  17. A quick attempt at the scream from dream on. I have always had trouble with this but within the last week or 2 it has become very easy!!
  18. Don't worry about sounding to soft or wimpy right now. Just worry about bridging and connecting through the break without choking. By the way you don't sound quiet or wimpy in this recording. One thing you can try is singing the top note in falsetto over and over again while slowly adding some twang by crying like a baby or quacking like a duck. High notes should almost feel like falsetto but sound like chest if you do them right.
