  1. Hi Morrigan, first of all welcome to the forum! I liked your timbre, but I don't think your voice is as low as you might think. I got the feeling that you were singing from the throat with a very low (probably pushed down) larynx. That is why the sound was so muffled, as KillerKu mentioned, and even offered some tips to improve it. Even though you haven't said anything, I'm assuming that you have little to none vocal training (nothing wrong with that). Am I correct? If that is the case, I'm sure you would benefit immensely from training your voice through a comprehensive vocal program and lessons (in person or via Skype) with the very talented vocal teachers you will find in this forum. But most importantly, as you are in control, you must make the commitment to do so, working hard and consistently to achieve the best results you can get. Keep on Rocking!

  3. Great job 8tor! This is a tough song. You did the 1st verse and pre-chorus beautifully, and nailed the chorus (actually both choruses). I think you may have lost your placement or support during 2nd verse and 2nd pre-chorus, that is why you got into trouble with the high notes there. I just couldn't believe that you sang the chorus so well and were not so good in the 2nd verse because with me it is the opposite: when I practice this song I always run into trouble in the choruses, although have little problem with the 2nd chorus. Still, I think you did well, but You have to practice to make it consistent. Keep them coming!
  4. Hi Aravind, I agree with you about this song being tougher than it looks. But I respectfully and humbly disagree about this song not being a match for your voice my friend. I would say, tone wise, that this song lies between the first ones and the last ones you have posted, because of that cartoonish sound you worked so hard to get rid off. I know really well what you mean about trying to sing a song for so long and finally being able to do so. But trust me on this my friend: if you keep working on this song, even sporadically, you will experience the improvements. I have been and still going through that on several songs. Unfortunately, lately I haven't had the time to practice, but I still see the results on songs I haven't practiced diligently. And just to clarify, I don't think you sucked at this song, But I know from your previous covers that you can do so much better. Keep rocking man, and keep those covers coming!
  5. What happened man? I think you just need to practice recording with the new mic. After a while you will get more relaxed and will definitely sound even better. I think you could get the lower notes to sound better too if you added a little cry to your voice, the way you did for some of the highest notes. When recording with a condenser you can get really up close, almost eating the microphone... Cheers
  6. Hi Aravind, let me start congratulating you for the balls to try such a hard song. I liked your pitch in general, and that you didn't try to sound like Freddie and were able to sing without the shouting quality for the vast majority of the song. However, after saying that I have to say that I didn't really like the final result, especially after seeing (hearing) what you are capable of doing when you apply yourself to it. I think your tone in most parts of the song was bordering that old cartoonish voice that you got rid of in all your recent covers. So, IMO you just need to work a bit more on this song to make it worthy of being part of your recent covers. You are doing great man, and you know that. Just work a bit more to polish the sound, you got the range for it. Keep on rocking!
  7. I think that the general tone is similar, very laid back, great resonance. If you want to sing high notes you just need to learn the proper technique and practice. In my opinion, though, You don't need it, as you already sound really good. Cheers
  8. A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Really cool tone, very Bubleesque... Welcome and Keep them coming Nick!
  9. AWESOME Aravind! You did the verses well, although there is room for improvement, but you were killing in the choruses, man! Really good! I think, as this is a "one-take" recording, you were not "in the zone"in the first 1-2 verses. But after that you were rocking! May I humbly suggest you something? Keep doing the "one-take" routine, for it is the best practice for live singing, but add a loop during the recording, so it will replay the backing track as soon as you finish singing, and you can re-sing the beginning, or the whole song again if you feel like it. This way I guarantee you will nail the beginning of the song in the same way you do the middle and end. Keep on rocking man!
  10. ENANDER, this was AWESOME dude! Great vocals, vibe, and production. It really has that 80's feel, but I think it might have appeal these days specially in the club scene. Of course I might be wrong, as I don't do clubbing. Keep Rocking man!
  11. I liked it Cynthia. You have a nice and soft voice. I noticed your voice was a little shaky in a couple of spots, but it could be a stylistic choice (not my personal taste). Other than that, I liked it. Are you a professional singer in Italy? Cheers
  12. It sounds awesome Elvis! As you said yourself once in another post that You were a sort of beginner in singing, may I humbly suggest that you start working in this song with clean vocals, and then add grit as you like it? Just because if you start adding grit when you are still working on a balanced voice and muscles, you may end up using it as a crutch to sing the high notes. Please don't get me wrong, you sounded really good already man. I can't wait to hear the final version. Keep on Rocking!
  13. Holly Shizzz! When you started singing, I swear I rewinded the song twice and cranked up the volume to make sure it was you singing Aravind! AWESOME timbre man! I never heard this song before, and if you told me you wrote it, I would believe you! Great cover! Pitch wise I think it was pretty accurate. Beautiful rendition, man! Keep rocking!!!
  14. I think it sounds a bit thin because you are singing very light using your head resonance. Nice timbre and vocals nevertheless. Keep Rocking man!
  15. Hi Aravind, when I say decrease the power on the high parts, it is just until you figure it out how to do it properly, or get the muscle memory, to sing the way you want. I agree with you, this song is all about the power, after all, "we are the champions of the world...". But the way you are currently singing it (struggling and shouting) will make this song be the only one in your set list, because it is going to kill your voice and drain your stamina. Believe me, I've been there, and singing in a rock band with poor monitoring still makes me do it. Keep rocking man!
  16. Hey Aravindmadis, very nice try man. You got the balls to pick a very hard song, my friend. I liked one thing in special, that is you did not sound as a cartoon character not for a second. Great improvements, man! It sounds to me that you are straining and shouting a lot on the high parts, with the exception of the falsetto/light head voice on "keep on fighting..." (very nice, by the way). I agree with the other guys about changing your approach to this song. In my humble opinion, you could either try it on a lowered key (1-1/2 step down) to get the coordination, muscles, and stamina right, or "keep on fighting till the end..." (sorry I couldn't resist) continue singing on the same key but making several changes as needed. I don't think the notes are your problem, as you probably have recorded songs with higher notes. You are probably struggling because of a combination of lyrics (vowels and consonants that throw you off), the notes you are coming from right before the change in pitch, and to much power. If you want to keep trying on the same pitch you must start training with a much lighter coordination of "mixed" or head voice, and pay attention to your support as you ascend. Keep practicing just the change in pitch with less power and support. When you get the coordination right the timbre will change with time, and you may sound as powerful as you like. Keep on rocking man!
  17. Nice! Great voice and interpretation throughout! I felt that the volume of the backing track was too low in the beginning, but afterwards it picked up. Keep them coming, especially the ones from the early days of U2, my favorite. Keep on rocking Bono!
  18. Hey man, I know how you feel. I really do. Just so you don't feel bad here is the link for my first attempt at this song . Recorded in June 2013.   And this is me practicing in the kitchen strumming the guitar in April 2014, recorded on a cellphone.  Cheers!
  19.   I feel your frustrations friend. I totally agree with you! Even though I can sing Knocking on Heaven's Door (Guns version), Iris still gives me trouble on the chorus with that A4... Keep rocking man!
  20. Awesome singing dude! It reminds me Axel, but I have to agree with Strengthlegacy when he says you are using way more distortion than Axel. I don't know if it is important to you to sound exactly like Axel, but it sounds awesome already. I would just try to find my own style now, if I were You. I was also wondering what you sound like if you step off the distortion. Nice work!
