    You did so much better than me (last year or two years ago). Yeah you had the timing issues in the beginning, but it just takes some practice to get those right. I did not like it very much because you sounded nasal in the verses and lacked weight in the verses. But it is just my taste. Hopefully, as soon as I have some free time, I'll get back to recording, and I will try this song again, now that the range is not an issue so much. Although that A4 is a biatch! Keep on Rocking mate!

    Oh man! Oh man! Aravind, your improvements have no bounds! I'm so jealous (in a good way)! Your timbre was so nice with the low end, and very little nasality. Awesome singing! yeah, you had a few spots just a bit off-pitch, but who doesn't?! I think you should revisit some of your earlier recordings where you sounded too nasal, and redo them. Nice job! Keep rocking!

    NICE tone! But I didn't like the phrasing (rubato? as ronws said). But that doesn't mean it is wrong or bad, just my taste. Good job!

    A.W.E.S.O.M.E. song Robert! I think I heard it before on a different thread, and still like it a lot. Very powerful timbre and lots of nuances changing with the dynamics. Really well built song too. As a humble fellow songwriter and musician, may I ask if you thought about doing some harmonies during the chorus or "pre-chorus"(e.g.. 2:30 "walking down memory lane"...). I played the video a few times and I swear I could hear in my head a higher harmony (like high metal screaming) in these parts, and it sounded (in my head) great. I was just wondering... Anyways, keep them coming!

    I liked it. But I think you still need to dial down the nasality, which is most noticeable when you come back from the solo "now as you close your eyes, know I'll be thinking about you..." Also, when you sing the 2nd line of the chorus "for tonight I sleep on a bed of nails", Bed of nail sounds a bit shoutty, but not bad.  Good job, keep on rocking!

    I liked it! Nice timbre and light distortion. I also listened to your cover of Nutshell, and I thought it was really good too. If you don't feel pain in your throat, I would say that you are on the right path. Keep rocking man! And don't forget to finish Come as you are...

    Hi Aravindmadis, I listened to your other cover of Tears in Heaven, and really liked it (I left my comments on that thread), but I think you need to work a bit more on this cover, just to make you feel more comfortable singing it. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it is a bad cover, but I just feel that it needs more work. I always thought that this was a tough song by Queen, but maybe it is because I tend to get confused by the 145 different voices... eh eh eh. I don't know if you noticed or did it as a stylistic feature, but you did not sustained the high notes at the end of the phrases (such as in "Lord" and others), and (IMO) it made it sound less. Dude, 2 covers in the same day, you are on fire! I was wondering if I could make a request: can you record "Love of my life" (Queen)? I would like to "see" how you would do it. Keep on rocking!

    AWESOME! Really really liked it man! Nice timbre and emotion. This song always gets me if I start paying attention to the lyrics. You did such a good job dialing down so much the "cartoonish voice" that it almost disappeared completely. Although you can still hear it creeping in when you sang "time can bring you down, time can BEND your knees..." during the bridge, and in just a few places, but almost unnoticed, just a hint. Very good job, congrats.

    Hey Ronws, nice work! I could not hear nasality, and you were in tune for the vast majority of the song, and in control of your head voice. But I think your voice could benefit of a little more reverb because it sounded (IMO) with less reverb than the guitar, which was well played. I think I get what Vats meant with a beefier sound, and I agree, as I told you once that I like the other head voice (mix voice?) you use sometimes. I just don't remember now which song was that. I think you could use the really light sound for stylistic effects instead of all the time. I don't mean belting instead of the light approach either, but the mix voice/cry/twang. Sorry I don't know the right technical terms, but I'm not a vocal coach or an advanced vocal student, as you know. Overall, great sound man! Keep on rocking!

    Hey Aravind, You were singing pretty much all the notes right, but it felt shouty to me, as if you were trying to push hard to reach the notes. I think you would benefit if you added the cry to your singing. As this song is light and more mellow, you don't need to approach it as a typical hard rock song, you can go a bit lighter just adding the cry, and it will also help you conserving energy. Still, awesome first attempt! Way better than when I first tried this. If you need help to understand how to produce the cry I talked about, you could check Tony O'Hora's videos (vocal power UK). When I first watched them they didn't help me at all because I didn't get how he did it, but then it made so much sense to me. I hope it helps. Keep on rocking man!

    Amazing, as always Felipe! But this time, not only because you sang it well, but (IMO) because of how you were able to manipulate your timbre, which is normally  way darker than this performance. Excellent job!

    Aravind, after listening to this song I thought your voice/timbre was perfect for this genre of Metal and Hard Rock. Really nice! Keep on rocking!

    Hi Aravindmadis, I liked your take on this song, especially the bridge and the verse and chorus after the bridge. I think you are using too much effect on your voice throughout the song up to the bridge, to my taste. I don't mean the digital/analog effects (such as delays, chorus, etc). I meant the way you are singing, almost remind me of a cartoon character. But after the bridge, you sang it more natural. Good job overall.

    I like it Aravindmadis! You did a good job with this song man. I think that in the high pitch parts, because you made it sound too Rock/Metal, it almost seemed that there were 2 people singing (the 2nd being a Janis Joplin persona). I liked it, but I get what MDEW and Jarom mentioned. To illustrate it, try to imagine Axl Rose singing Yesterday (by The Beatles). He would not have any issues singing the high pitch parts, but they would sound more aggressive and a lot less sweet and sentimental. Good job man! :cool:

    Hi MDEW, I thought your tone and the song were a really good match. For me you sounded great on the choruses, but I felt you were a bit flat in the verses. When I used to practice with the guitar, I always felt that the guitar got in the way of some songs. It would even make me lose the beat (usually speeding up on some parts). I don't know if it was the same for you. But on the other hand, for a first run, it was pretty good. Just need to fix pitch on some parts of the verses. Keep rocking! :cool:

    Hi IamHo, when you say "learning online" do you mean, watching youtube videos, and reading tips from vocal teachers and students? If so, this type of "learning by yourself" usually takes the longest time, when compared with taking vocal lessons in person or through Skype. I think you still have to work on pitch. You should start with simple pitch matching exercises. You could even download apps for your cell that would help you to do that. But bear in mind that having a good vocal coach/teacher (even through Skype lessons) is the best and fastest way to improve vocally. If you like singing, keep working on it, save some money to take lessons, or buy vocal programs, or books. Cheers, and keep on rocking!
