  1. Sounds Good Pekka and Jabroni. I haven't had time to even think about this for a while. I am glad that this thread is still going strong. Hopefully we will get a few more people adding their versions of this soon.
  2. I love that fast vibrato of yours...... I agree...Very entertaining......
  3. Not exactly the Bob or Seger I was thinking of but this will due. I love Pete Seeger. Thanks for the video.
  4. QUICK!!!!! Get on Youtube and listed to BOB for pete's sake before you hurt yourself...........
  5. Beautiful Voice as always. If you wanted to change this song into a sexy Ballad then you have accomplished that. If you meant to ROCK OUT on it, then you need to add a little attitude and get rid of the breathiness. Yell a little and maybe even practice being mean.(I would hate to see that) I myself, like the breathy sexy thing.
  6. Well, If it is my voice that you are hearing ..... I feel sorry for you... If you are hearing Bob Seger or Kenny Rodgers then use it to your advantage somehow.
  7. Yeah, It kind of gets confusin" when you sing songs from many different genres. People tell you to find your own voice but with my voice different styles of singing and different effects can make a huge difference. Vocal programs will talk about things like Edge, distortion, vibrato, placement, Support glottal compression. The way I get these things are more like finding another character who uses them. Many of the songs I posted had issues because I used the voice that I thought was my natural voice, after hearing the comments and readjusting things to not use my voice I had better reviews. I am now learning to NOT use my own voice(The one I thought was natural) and FIND one that gives a better reflection of the song I am singing. OR use one that WORKED in the past. I may try that Phil Collins song again now that I have been playing with distortion.
  8. Some have said that I sound like the singer from the band "America". I posted "Sister Golden Hair" awhile ago. I think you can still find it on my soundcloud page. I always thought I sounded like the singer from "Pure Prairie League". The only song of theirs I know is "Amie". Thinking that I sound like him may be what was leading to my nasality. Lately I have been emulating Waylon Jennings. I think it is helping me to stabilize my larynx. I am also playing with distortion....That is helping to cut out the high frequencies of my voice and balance things a little.
  9. I looked up the chords on the internet and what most people had written was wrong. My chords are wrong also I had to use poetic license and create my own for the most part' It is hard to transfer piano chords to one guitar.....My fingers do not stretch far enough to get a bass line in there.
  10. Barry White and Aaron Neville. Barry Takes one verse, Aaron another......I have already heard this in some of Gsouls postings.
  11. Do yourself a favor and look up the original on Youtube. Denis did a fantastic job but you need to experience the Beatles singing this. Live, if you can find it.......
  12. OK. I will accept that for now. But next time, if I don't sing at least a G#4, you have to slap me down a few notches.
  13. I did drop it one whole step to keep from breaking. That G4 is getting stronger but sometimes I have to sneak up on it a little. Bob sings this in the key of B and the high note for him is A4.
  14. I was going to give this one a few days first....There are not too many people who can take that much MDEW at one time.
  15. Thanks Pekka, I am not sure that I am getting better with my singing or getting better at picking songs. At least I am getting better at something.........
  16. This has already been said but singing to a backing track or to musical accompaniment is a must. The music is what gives you your pitch center and it is easier for YOU to tell when your pitch is off a little. Having the music to sing to also gives you a way to let yourself go and get a better feel for the song. It can get your whole body involved instead of just your vocal folds and diaphragm.
  17. I've been Practicing this song for a few days Let me know what you think. Disregard the first few notes I was playing with rasp before and got carried away.
  18. Wow, is about the only word I can say right now. How can you do that sitting down? I really liked that vibrato you have in there. It has a unique speed to it. Hard to describe but I like it.
  19. Misty.......What a song..... I can almost see your evening dress shimmering in the spot light and smell the candles and cigars from an old time NightClub.......Those were the good old days.......I wasn't there but I saw it in a movie once.
  20. Sounds Good GSoul82. I'd love to hear something from you with a backing track and full musical intent. These snippets are like appetizers. I am ready for the meal.
  21.   Not bad for a starting point, I saw the thread that Gsoul suggested this.    I think you should start singing to backing tracks......Let the feel of singing to the music guide you.    The Bolton sound is not from a dropped larynx, I think it is more about the way he is holding back the air. It works for him because he cultivated it for a good while.   Let your own expression guide you on this and I think you will sound great.
  22. Beautiful has already been said, but I cannot think of a better word for it. Beautiful..........
  23.  Good Luck G, Congratulations on the new gig. ......About that lunch Ronws mentioned.......Just slip me a dew and we're good.
  24. Sounds good. Nice and mellow....I always felt an urgent feeling to Simon and Garfunkel's version. Like they were being warned of an upcoming event.
