  1. I think it is a product of your accent more than anything, That does not mean it is bad. I like to hear natural accents. But if you want to straighten it out a little sing a little closer to the Ah vowel instead of the i vowel. Just a little bit, too much and you get into other problems.
  2. Old men in Tanktops..........Cruising the gift shops.........Watchin' chiquitas down by the shore......................
  3. Pretty Cool Dennis, Good to see you again. In the very beginning you were just a tad too twangy. Once you settled into the song it went away and you started sounding better and more relaxed. Otherwise it sounded pretty good to me.
  4. Singing in the original key is good for when you will be singing with random bands, Karaoke, or training. When you are the singer of your own group or playing the accompaniment yourself on Guitar or piano, go with the key that makes your voice shine or fits your personality. When thinking about covering a song I will find the "original" version or the one I am most familiar with and also look for other covers, by other famous singers and with unknowns......... Then go with the one that best fits me and my" Style"(if you can call it that)
  5. I have a computer program that qualifies as "Air Time" for grounded Pilots. If you give me the Type and model of Jet I can practice and be ready in a week or two. I already have half of a successful flight logged. Hard landing.........( I did hurt my thumb when I fell off my chair. )
  6. Hi Kimberly, Sorry it took so long for a comment. If you could use some file sharing site like Box. net or soundcloud or Youtube that would be better. As it is we have to download your file to play it. Is that you Jamming on guitar also on Rescue Me? Sounds pretty cool. On the singing there is a bit too much delay and reverb to really hear your voice. Sound pretty good though. Anyway......... Welcome to the forum.
  7. I see that BZean liked these posts. I vote we invite him also. And Adolph................Good thing I am not much of a talker, Just get Ronws talking and kick back.
  8. Someone will have to give me a ride..........My tire is flat. If I start walking now I can be there by september. Should I bring chips?
  9. Thanks Ed-Win, I liked your version also. When it comes to singing to a Karaoke or backing track I get lost pretty easy. I guess I roll to a different drummer. I cannot read music but I would play songs by using guitar books that had the chords above the melody in the positions they would be in the song and sing what sounded right to me. I would be pretty surprised by the difference sometimes when hearing the actual song for the first time.
  10. Hi Bevin, Your voice sounds pretty good. Some of the recording software has a slight delay in playback when using headphones. It has something to do with latency that can be dealt with but I do not know enough about it to help. I hope to hear more from you. Good choice in picking "Four Pillars" to work with.
  11. Welcome to the forum Bevin. I agree with her Jeremy. I did not know the song either and you sang it pretty much like T.Rex, BUT if you put your own spin on this and make it yours it will sound much better.
  12. I would keep this on my sing often list and for performing for people. The odd parts will conform the more you sing it. The notes are there and it is a fun song to listen to.
  13. Cool, 2 songs in one day. Somebody's working hard(Or playing hard). Sounds pretty good. It seems in this on as in the other...you have the notes but not confident in them. Perhaps practicing this one a half step higher for a little while and then bringing it back down to the key you are now playing in. It still sounds pretty good but you asked for tips on improving it.
  14. Sounds pretty Good Gneetap, It seems that the higher notes are there but you are not confident about them. You are not out of pitch or anything like that and it sounds good. I do not know if I can give any tips because I notice the same thing in my singing.
  15. How did you do in tips? I thought about setting up a street performance where I live but the only thing I would get here is dirty looks. I live in a small town miles away from the city. But there are opportunities for singing in small bars and Coffee houses. You sound great as always. Maybe you could give us the full song some day.
  16. I guess this is a carbon copy of Bonnie Raitt . Thanks Bzean, I tried to find the correct chords for my cover but nothing seemed to work so I fudged a little.
  17. OK, this is it.......... You will have to put up with the out of tune guitar until someone buys me an expensive one. Capo on the 5th fret doesn't help things. Cowboy chords, Folk Style. I am Keeping this microphone.
  18. I am not trying to be a jerk. I am trying to help. The vocals need to be heard clear and on top of the guitars. The vocals are totally buried by the music. The first and best tip that I can give you is to listen back to your recordings. At least get the vocals loud enough that you can truely hear how you sound.
  19. If you cannot hear the voice what difference does it make whether it is good or not? The guitar player will get the praise not the singer.
  20. Have you even listened to any of these examples? The voice needs to be at least as loud as the guitars. It may sound freakin awesome but NO ONE will hear it like that.
  21. The volume level was much better on that. I still wish someone else would join this conversation. I do not know enough about this style of singing. You had good pitch and I think a nice tone. I still think you are squeezing entirely too much to get the tone. You are cutting off the sound. If you make a new thread with this karaoke track and put Judas Priest in the title I can almost guarantee others will post to that.
  22. I still had to turn the volume ALL THE WAY UP just to hear that. I am not sure what is going on. You seem to be in pitch but it.also sounds like you are squeezing the heck out of your vocal folds. I do not know much about this style of singing, so someone else will have to give it a listen. Still this vocal track is way low on volume.
  23. The idea is to get the vocals louder than the music. Is everything recorded on one track? If so what ever you do to vocals will happen with the music and we still will not hear your voice. When you record you need to have your voice louder than the music. At least for any of us to hear where you may be having problems.
