  1. Wow, very beautiful voice on this song! I love lots of types of music and am primarily into Rock/Metal but I own and love Lara Fabian Cd's and especially like the song Broken Vow. You are slaying it here, good stuff indeed
  2. Again, super pro job here in all areas. You are a fantastic singer and put out a very nice video. I wish I could do these kinds of vids. You kind of seem like a Kardashian with actual talent What are your career plans? You seem like much more than a hobbyist type. Whatever your intent you are very talented and well poised for whatever you would want to pursue.
  3. Very nice. I just watched a few of your videos and you are super versatile. Great interpretation on the material you have chosen.
  4. Really good job! Very nice video editing and presentation. I love this version of the song. I don't have any critique here, this is super pro and I am very impressed.
  5. That's fantastic! So glad to hear you are working on recording this song and very impressed also that you wrote the piece. Very mature writing!
  6. I really love this song. Do I have to fly to Australia to get you to track this in a studio?!? lol. You really need to get a great demo of this with all the ear candy etc. I think this is as strong as anything that Adele is doing etc. Do a lyric video as well. I really am liking the lyrics to this song. Did you write them? You have your assignment, get on it girl!
  7. Hi Joe, I have listened to your track and read the comments by our forum members. Lots of great advice here and I can tell you from my band experience etc when you are doing any cover material from ICONIC singers lol people always expect it to sound just like the original artist. In some cases that may be kind of possible. There are certain singers with timbers and basic range similarities that make it easier to sing very close to the original artist. I agree with Roberts posts about striving and improving. There are songs I spent many years building the basic instrument up to a point where the execution was finally right. If you look through past pages I have many songs on here from very iconic singers and you can see on some I succeed more than others but I am always trying to improve as a vocalist and that shows in my own Original material maybe better than singing covers although even there I can see improvement on songs I tried to sing as a newbie etc. Never be discouraged, there was very little in my early singing that would have made other people think I should stick with it haha.
  8. Ellise, the great thing about where your at is the incredible voice you have developed at such an early age. I had to sing on stage for quite awhile before I feel I developed my onstage persona. I am naturally kinda sci-fi geek guy lol and can be very silly but to take command of the stage took me a bit. Although I can already see the improvement in that department in your case and you still have time to grow into that kind of thing Still super proud of the great work you doing and putting yourself out there in these competitions is a great way to develop your "non-vocal" sklllllllz
  9. Hi, great job overall. These are the real tough types of songs I agree. You did a very good job of delivering the emotion on this song I feel. Keep up the good work brother.
  10. I can be a bit of a music theater geek, so I loved this! Andrew Lloyd Webber knows his way around a melodic hook and you did a fantastic job.
  11. Hi Hunter, welcome to the forum! Lots of great people on here and lotsa songs clips to listen to from members. Elise is a fantastic singer and I would check out what she is doing as she is a fine example of a young singer with TONS of talent.
  12. Sounding great brother! I am a huge fan of Mike Patton in any of his bands. Did you do the background track for this? It sounds really good.
  13. 5th below, still a great version brother! I am a fan of Rent as well. That is the "Gateway Drug Musical for Rockers) haha
  14. Also, I am not implying that woman can't sing a beautiful song, just that as a man I wouldn't shy away from a track originally sung by a woman lol. I didn't mean any disrespect to Ellise
  15. Hi Javastorm, I am such a theater geek love me some Wicked. I really love the tone of your voice, I always hear a nice warmth in your voice kinda R&Bish without being overt. It's definitely something I struggle with in my singing. I seem to have a very strong and bright voice but the darker shades sometimes are the hardest for me to achieve. I love this song and I really am enjoying your soft verses they are very emotionally charged and flow extremely naturally. I heard only a slightly flat note here and there NOTHING major and it didn't pull me out of the listening enjoyment of the track. At the climax note at the end I could feel you just holding on lol but you made it, a little more support may help on that note. You did a great job on a beautiful song. I am a rocker but I still do not shy away from beautiful songs even if its a song by a woman as I have done Alone (From Heart) on this forum in the past. Quick question is this song in the original key? If so then additional props for doing such a fantastic job.
  16. I love your tone girl! I do like the song. Is it going to stay just piano, and vox with a bit of orchestration? I can hear lots of interesting ideas for this song. Very nice, are you going to multi-track this song soon?
  17. Wow! Very smooooooooth my brother! I loved this, I hear a really nice James Ingram quality to your voice on this song. I haven't had a chance to listen but one time but I will listen more later and try to give any feedback I can think of but its damn good. I envy that manly tone, lol.
  18. I loved this, especially how you hit the high note around 1:43, very nice You kept it nice an relaxed sounding too, not always easy to do live when you only have one song to impress. I usually need a song or 2 to clear up any extra nervous energy I may have and you handle it like a pro.
  19. I agree with all the great advice everyone has given. I have always preferred a lower female voice to a soprano. I think Ellise on this forum is a fantastic singer and I think you should listen to clips of her for solid examples of a fantastic female voice that has a very mature darker quality to it but with great compression and extended range. I love the vocals of the late great Jimmy Scott and he was know for having an androgynous haunting quality to his voice. I truly think you sound like a woman with a lower voice and that's nothing to be ashamed of. Practicing something you love to do is worth it. I gave up being embarrassed to rehearse years ago but I totally understand the fear as I was a very shy singer for many years. I hid behind my guitar playing in bands etc and yet now very few people even know that I play guitar as most people just know me as a singer so you can for sure do the same. Robert is a great teacher and has so much useful info for you if you have the drive and desire to go for it.
